Next Tuesday, 9th, Nooma will be taking a week off. The following Tuesday, 16th, we’ll meet at the earlier time of 7pm for our traditional end of term meal. Bring a plate of food to share, all welcome!
If you’re interested in study resources for Lent, check out the UnitingWorld Lent Event page. Those who were at Nooma on Tuesday will recognise the Bible Study booklet “Finding Light in Darkness” by Alistair Macrae…
Next term Nooma will be looking at the seven week “Animate: Faith” course. This is a great opportunity for those who aren’t regulars at Nooma to come along and have a taste…
Animate is an original take on adult education that stirs curiosity. Participants are engaged and inspired to connect with their faith. Facilitators don’t have to have all the answers. Animate encourages everyone–including the facilitator–to participate in the experience, have a point of view, and deepen faith.
Videos bring seven contemporary Christian leaders from across the country into your group setting. They are authors, pastors, theological experts, and professors–and they each have compelling perspectives.
Animate resources appeal to a variety of learning styles, and have lots of ideas for discussion. Sessions don’t include fill-in-the-blank activities or answer guides, but they do include prompts for creativity–like doodling.
We’ll kick off the term with a shared meal together, on October 8th, at 7pm (bring a plate of food to share), then start the series the following Tuesday at the usual time of 7:45pm.
This term at Nooma will be short (6 week) series looking at Walter Brueggemann’s “Embracing the Prophets in Contemporary Culture”. As always, everyone is welcome to join us at 7:45pm at the Manse.
The Lent studies on “The Lion’s World” have finished, and so Nooma is taking a break until after Easter. But we’ll be having our traditional end of term dinner on Tuesday April 9th, at 7pm – just bring a plate of something to share!

Some people like them fat and fluffy, some people like them thin and crispy. Some people probably don’t like them – well, that’s bad luck for them.
Shrove tuesday is traditionally pancake day, a final day of indulgence before the rigours of lent. Whether you plan for a rigour-full lent or not, please come along for the indulgence bit. At the manse, Tuesday March 8th, from 6:30pm until late, please feel free to drop in any time and stay for as long or as little as you like.
This pancake party will replace Nooma for the evening!
