Playjays

Playjays is a playgroup for children aged 0-5 and their carers. We meet on Friday mornings from 9:30-11:00 in the Lower Hall at St. John’s Uniting Church for the kids to have a play and the adults to have coffee and chat.
Everyone is welcome, no booking required! Cost is $2 plus a piece of fruit to share for morning tea…
St. John’s Uniting Church is opposite Wahroonga park, on the corner of Stuart Street and Coonanbarra Road. The entrance to the Church and hall is off Coonanbarra Road.

Last Thursday Wahroonga park was filled with preschool kids, parents and grandparents, as we celebrated national Children’s Week with ‘A Day in the Park’. Somewhere between two and three hundred kids came through, enjoying the animal petting zoo, bubble fairy, stories, songs, gingerbread men, fruit sticks, play-doh, face painting, knox junior bands, crafts and drawing and sausage sizzle. The event was jointly hosted by the Uniting and Baptist Churches, and not even a bit of rain could put the dampers on the enthusiasm of the kids.
Big thanks to all those from St. John’s who got involved, especially Ted (BBQ), Amanda …

The last Playjays of term saw the first day warm enough to have the water table out – so it was a wet and messy morning! And it’s lovely to have morning tea outside, not to mention there being less mess to clear up!
We take three weeks off now, and Playjays will restart on October 14th.
